New York Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon is hoping to make a case to be re-signed as a free agent next season, according to the New York Daily News. Damon, 35, has already matched a career-high with 24 homers, thanks in large part to the cozy dimensions of the new Yankee Stadium.
Fantasy spin: Damon has yet again exceeded expectations in fantasy, especially in the power department. The Yankees’ lineup and stadium have greatly contributed to Damon’s gaudy numbers, so his 2010 value is tied into the uniform he’s wearing. A return to New York would mean just as much lineup protection and just as many stadium-aided home runs. Damon has 17 home runs and a .601 slugging percentage at home, compared to 7 homers and a .448 slugging percentage on the road.
