Nolan Reimold has impressed Baltimore Orioles management with both his power and his patience, according to the Baltimore Sun. Reimold has exhibited a maturity well beyond his years and experience, which has helped him carve out an everyday role with the O’s.

Impressively, Reimold has 10 walks to just six strikeouts so far in June. Combined with his .326 batting average, the 25-year-old rookie has an impressive .453 on-base percentage and 1.034 OPS this month. Read more »

Week 10 Free Agent Profiles: Hitters

This has been a good week for those in the market for free agent hitters. An influx of young talent has provided a much-needed dose of excitement in an otherwise stale season for rookies and prospects in fantasy.

Andrew McCutchen and Gordon Beckham are the freshest faces to make their Major League debuts, joining Matt Wieters, Gerardo Parra, Chris Coghlan and Colby Rasmus, among others, in a select group of rookies worthy of fantasy consideration.

McCutchen graces our list below after getting off to a hot start as the new Pirates’ leadoff hitter. Colorado Rockies teammates Ian Stewart and Clint Barmes are swinging hot bats to gain serious consideration as additions to fantasy owners’ middle infields.

Headliners of the 2009 rookie class David Price and Matt Wieters have made their major league debuts, and they couldn’t have come at a better time. Prospects have largely fallen flat this season, with most failing to capitalize on the opportunities they’ve gotten.

Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Mat Gamel isn’t down and out yet, but he’s got to pick up the pace to land an everyday job. With starter Bill Hall as mediocre and truculent as ever, Gamel can first seize at-bats against right-handed pitchers, then become something close to a full-timer. Read more »
